This scholarship is open to applicants attending a two or four-year college in fall of 2008. Selection is based upon a type-written essay and school records, including extra-curricular activities and recommendations.

Essay Topic:

In recent years, the integration of computers in schools has become more prevalent. How specifically can technology be used in the classroom to improve learning and instruction?

Consider:

• How is technology currently being utilized at your school?
• What additional forms of technology not utilized at your school could improve student learning and instruction?
• What technology at school has influenced your own learning and instruction?

• Write an essay in which you persuade the reader of your opinion on how technology can be used to improve learning and instruction in the classroom.
• Defend your position with specific reasons supported by several detailed examples.
• Essays should be a minimum of five complete paragraphs and must be typed.

Submission Process:

• Individual ClassLink high schools may submit a maximum of 5 scholarship applications.
• Applications are to be submitted to the school guidance department. Electronic submissions preferred (PDF).

Who Qualifies:

Applicant must be

• A U.S. citizen
• A graduating senior at a ClassLink high school
• Planning to attend a two or four year college located in the U.S.
